33^rd Prospect Mountain Road Race

9^th series – race 3 of 5

Saturday, May 13, 2023 – Lake George, NY

From the pictures I’ve seen, looks like it was a great day for the race! Sorry to have missed it. Thank you so much to Brian Teague for the pictures and Jeff Gould for his report!!! 😊

“Aah, Prospect Mountain. It brings up so many memories. Great race.

Chris, Jill and their unheralded group did a great job once again putting on this race.

They made everything so easy, from picking up numbers and getting ready for the race, everything except (of course), the 5.67 miles we had to hump to the summit 😊

The race went off without a hitch like it always does, awards were given out at the finish even before we had a chance to gasp enough oxygen to be able to walk erect.

The race has been put on for 33 years, and there are a couple of runners that have run them all. Bless them.

Here's to the race lasting for years to come. Another fine day.” 

Congratulations to Eric Blake & Karen Bertasso on their wins!  

Eric ran the 3rd fastest time in the history of the race. At age 44 he is the first runner to challenge Barry Brown as the top master running a minute faster than Barry from back in 1990. Set the male 40-44 AGR by 3 minutes and the 44 SAR running 35:15.

Karen just missed the venerable course record set years ago by National Class Mountain Runner Nikki Kimball! She did get the F35-39 AGR running 42:17.
